Default Heater not on when auto start?!?!

It makes zero sense to me why my heater is not on when I auto start my car and it’s 20° outside. Someone please make sense of that and better yet tell me how to fix it if there’s something I can do about it please. And I am assuming in the summertime, when it is 96° outside and 112 inside my car, when I auto start it my AC won’t be running either…
If you can’t tell, I find this very exasperating!

Probably makes sense if that option is turned off. Have you checked the manual?

The newer cars only go to 72F when you start your car whether its winter or summer. With how long your car is running with the remote start, you really wont feel a lot of a difference at that point. Your car's engine needs to warm up before it can warm the cabin and when its only idling in very cold outside temps, it takes a little while (15min or more.) Once you start driving you will notice the heat much more.

When I remote start my 2018 S60 for 15min, my cabin is not warm. But after a short drive down the hill the heat is coming up hot.

Hope this helps
