Hello, my key is stuck I have read previous threads about the shift lock over ride and the shift **** and those are disengaged. What would y’all recommend for the next step?

thanks for any help, sorry if it’s already out there I’ve tried to check al threads relating this.

 

I've had to replace many steering column locks that refuse to turn - The s/v40 column locks in that year range fail like the 01-07 v/xc70/s60 cars - but the ignition tumbler is removable (it is not in the other cars) The normal failure is the key won't turn to the start position.

Can't remember if there is a cable from the shifter to the column lock (#17?)- (like the other cars in that year range) - but if that cable fails to move when shifter is in park - the key can't be turned back all the way and removed.
