My 2003 xc70 speedo has been working intermidently for a while, I purchased a second hand speedo and am told I will not be able to have it programed to my computer. The message center ,time of day and odometer go on and off, but the speedometer, gas and tempature gages work. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

 

It need to be programmed to get back to work.

 

Thanks for the advice, but my dealer says that a used unit is not programable. I am a Canadian and did find a unit that is in kilometers but he says that it not possible to get a used speedo tp sync with my cars cumputer.

Dealer might be right, 'cause the mileage reading already stored in the unit. Unless you can get someone or the dealer clear the used unit then load it again, but how can they set the mileage? Or you might have the chance report to the MOT to get it changed.
