Default Central Locking Issue

I have a 2000 American-spec V40. The gas filler door is no longer locking (it will unlock, however). I reversed the two wires on the lock mechanism and that resulted in locking the unit when I pressed unlock on the remote. So, the unit works off a temporary positive pulse send down either of the two wires which, otherwise, revert back to ground. The positive pulse is being sent down the unlock wire (brown with a black stripe) but not the lock wire (brown with a white stripe). There is continuity in both wires (i.e. I checked for shorts or breaks in the wires and found none) which leads me to believe that this is a hardware issue (i.e. defective central locking system module) or possibly a software issue.

Any advice?

Thanks
