Clunk noise when turning
2018 V40 d2 R design
Last night i noticed the car was pulling to the right and making a clunk noise when turning either left or right.
less clearance from wheel to wheel arch on right side also, but this could be an uneven sitting on the driveway.
steering isn't heavy or light, feels normal pressure.
Should also add the steering gets a bit funny when driving on uneven surfaces, like wobbles. But this has happened for a while and well before it had it's MOT in October, which passed with not even as much as an advisory.

sounds like you have a worn suspension bushing (ie control arm etc). if you had clunks driving in a straight line too (say when going over RR or speed bumps) then I'd consider strut mounts/spring seats. Given you feel the steering go off (like the car suddenly went out of alignment?), then I'd inspect control arm bushings. If the steering feels loose - even when standing still then check ball joints, tie rods, steering rack mounts etc. Last thing to inspect are the springs. Older S/Vs were known to break off the ends of the coil springs but I've not heard whether that is just the older models or if the newer ones have the same issue.

Alao explains why there was a loud thud the night before and then the car alarm going off. Musy have been the spring giving way. Which i probably should have mentioned, but didn't think anything of it until now
