I have a 1997 v40, with remote locking. The remote worked fine until my battery flattened the other day. I had to unlock the car with the key and since then the remote has not worked. Have replaced the batteries in the remote but still no joy. Any ideas appreciated.

 

If you have a dealer close to you most of them have a box that tests the remotes and they will do it for free.
It will tell you if the remote is sending a signal or not.That will assure that the new battery is good as well.

 

Thank you for that suggestion. Solved the problem via advice from an alarm specialist, which was to disconnect the car battery and reconnect, as a means of resetting the alarm. Worked perfectly.

 

OK glad it is back to normal.
