Ignition Key Cylinder Illumination.
I own a 2002 V40.
Can anyone advise me if this vehicle should have an illuminated ignition key cylinder or not?
Suspect that a bulb behind the antenae ring could need replacing?
There is an internal light located down below the dash on the right side of the steering column to illuminate the footwell area but this does not assist greatly to allow one to insert the ignition key easily at night.
Sick of fumbling and feeling about to locate the key slot properly.

The illumination ring is replaceable. You will need to remove the lower cover on the steering column. 3 T20 or T25 screws and then expose the ignition lock. the ring has a small electical plug and a couple of screws. This part is available at the dealer.
Thank you kindly for your response confirming.
I was beginning to wonder if it was actually meant to be illuminated because of the lack of response from any other V40 owner.
I'll visit the dealership when next handy to see what a new ring costs to replace. Probably not cheap. regards.
