I am in the middle of a timing belt change and am having trouble with the oil pump oil seal. The new seal did not wish to co-operate with going on the shaft. I have a 2004 motor and the seal must flair on the inside diameter to go over the shaft at the oil pump end. I can flair the seal by pushing if in a forward direction on to a tube the same diameter as the shaft shoulder. However, I could not get the seal to flair in the reverse direction which is needed to get it on the shaft at the pump end. I tore the seal by trying to force it so I'll need a new one. Any help with the seal choice and how do I get the new one on???
