I'm having an issue with my 2004 V40.

The other day I started depressing the tailgate handle in the middle of the keyfob unlock process. So the handle was pressed about halfway when the unlock process hammered home, and I felt and heard something "clunk" like the inside mechanism became disengaged.

Now the remote lock and unlock doesn't work on the tailgate. If i insert the key and turn it counter-clockwise, i can open the door. But otherwise, the lock/unlock doesnt seem to engage anything.... it just stays locled maybe, or disconnected.

I took the panel off inside to see the mechanism, but I'm not sure how it's supposed to look. Would anyone be able to spot what's wrong here, or be willing to share photos of a working handle mechanism?
