tire questions with 17 Arcadia rims
Hey y'all,
I got a question regarding arcadia rims for the 2001 v40,
I got a 2001 V40 1.9T running the OEM Stellar 15 inch rims with 195/60r15's. I ordered the 17 inch OEM Arcadia rims on eBay from UK (somehow it wasn't offered in the US).
now I'm trying to figure out the tires that I should run on them. I read the 215/45r17 is the size that goes with them, but I cannot find any details regarding the offset of the rims(if theres any to be changed) or what I should be aware of. Also whats the widest tires I can run on those rims if I really wanted to. You guys got any experience with it?

Wheel-size.com is a great resource for these kinds of questions.
The best tire size + offset is going to be influenced by your rim width. For 215/45s you'd want a 7 inch wide rim. This site shows 205/15/17s on a 6.5 rim with 40mm offset as an optional size, so I'd think with the wider rim you'd want to be in the 35-40mm range. What you are trying to do is keep the wider rim from rubbing on the inside - if you go too wide it may rub on the outside during full lock turning but you can deal with that by rolling the fender lip - I doubt you'd have a problem with 205s or 215s either way.
