Volvo 1.9T (2000) Performace Upgrades?
I'm glad to be apart of the Volvo community and possibly getting some help and tips from you Volvo vets out there
-- Recently I purchased a Volvo S40 1.9T 2000 at auction for around $2000.00USD which I'm thinking was a pretty good deal. This car has only 98k miles on it and is in pretty good standing. I recently replaced the motor mounts, transmission fluid, oil, air filter, and a headlight fuse. The car is working great and I'm fully satisfied.. you could say. I didn't realize that Volvos (prev. I thought to be grandma cars/I'm only 22) had actual pep to them on the road.
My main question now is what are some parts that I could purchase to increase the performance and over all speed. I've looked though fourms and have an idea but i would like to hear from experienced Volvo users, on what you would put on this car.
Budget - ~700-1200USD
Thank you for your time.

hey my grannie has a volvo also.......personally i would not fool around with a car that has so many electronic check/balances....ive read horror stories of people using power-chips and destroying their turbos in the process....or installing after-market turbos and again screwing up the harmony of the car....i suggest leaving the bolt-on additions to lesser engineered cars. only my 2cents.
Get a cat back exhaust and 3'' down pipe, and Intake kit. cost around $1000. expect around 15 WHP +/-. Also u can grab a boost controller from eBay for about 200 and play with the boost on the go. DO NOT BUY ANY CHIPS... good luck mate
