Hi Everydody !!!!!
Thank you to try to hep me out .... I have a Volvo V40 1.9T 2001. As soon as the engine is HOT and the fans are starting to work the engine stops by himselfas soon that I have the foot on brake...actually when the engine is as his low rpm level.I only does it sometimes ,maybe 1/2 when I am at a stop light or i'm in drive and I have the foot on the brake and the car is completely stoped.
I went at Volvo and they couldnt find anything beacause there is no check engine on. I changed the alternator ...the timing belt ...batterie,air filterand same story.....If you guys have any ideas please let me know .... Thank you again ...

 

Maybe bad thermostat or coolant temp sensor.

 

Thank you again , but it dies like it will be an electrical probelm. The engine stop instantly. and if I try to restart it start normaly... I know that it could be anything...it s preatty sad cause this could ba cause by anything... but I will try to see if what u said could be the problem . thanx again

 

If it happenes when stopping the most likely cause is you IAC motor (idle air control). It wont set a check eng but can cause your symptoms.

 

Check for vacuum leak first then check your IAC motor. I've seen a few of them goes. (LOOK CAREFULLY ON MOTOR "FOMOCO" is printed on it)

 

Did you found a soluction for this problem?? I have the same problem on my V40!
