"Clunk" with auto trans
I just got my 2006 V50 and the only thing I've noticed that might be of some concern is a "clunk" at low speeds.
If I'm crawling at five to ten miles an hour on the freeway the tranny will shift or downshift so hard that at first I thought that I had run over a pothole or something.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Jack

I'm not sure but 2006 sounds like a almost brand new car.
Why don't you check with your dealer since it's under the warranty.
If thetranny shifts hardas you accelerategoing from 0 to 10at this point, and your driving habit involves lots of kick start, then I don't think it's the transmission issue.
contact your dealer since it's under the warranty.

RE: "Clunk" with auto trans
Hi There,
I too get this sound driving slowly, let say starting from stop, going to 20 MPH then slowing to around 5-15 MPH. The tranny gears down and I get this clunk you describe.I am able to keep this from happening if I keep on the accelerator slightly. I think that the RPM's drop too fast causing the rough down shift. This clunk does not happen if the car does not shift up so if driving slowly and don't change gears there is no clunk (there is no rough down shift).
Give the slight accelerator press a try to see if it goes away.
Cheers.........
