Have recently bought a 58 reg V50 1.8; like the car, but within a week of taking it home I've been troubled by an intermittent fault - on starting, the engine revs drop to around 500rpm and dipping the throttle makes no difference, it just will not respond. However, after 10/15/20 seconds it suddenly bursts into life. Usually happens when car has been run for a shortish distance and left for a while. Been to Volvo dealer, ran a diagnostics check, nothing found, but said they would change something to 'solve the acceleration problem' (?!?!), which they did and it was ok for a week, but fault is now re-occurring every couple of days at random intervals! Anyone else experienced this? Any answers/suggestions?
