Default V50 2.0d consumption

I have a new V50 2.0 Diesel.December 2009.

I make about 13,5 Km/L; after 4000 Km of car using.

I had experience with the same S40, with a consumption of 17 Km/L.
I drove a V50 of year 2007 for 10.000 Km, with a consumption of 16,5 Km/L.
My friend have the same V50 as mine, I drove it and the result is 17 Km/L.

Volvo says that my car drink so much because is new, but I have a different feeling, the difference is too much and I didn't have the same problem with the same engine, with my other 3 experience.

My be somebody of you have found the same problem, I would like to know if somebody can help me and inform me how did you solved the problem.

I feel after 4000 Km that it continue to drink to much and the situation doesn't improve.

In volvo service the check-up doesn't ndicate errors.

Please, help.

Thanks

Max

Its your driving style.

If I drive fast (160km/h - 200km/h) I do an average around 7.8l/100km

but when I reduce my speed to around 100-110kph I can do 4.8l/100km

Default tire pressure affects mileage

Make sure that your tires are properly inflated. If they are low, it could reduce your mileage. Good luck.
