Hi Folks, I'm new to the forum and to volvo. The V50 is the first import I've bought, my wife had a saab when we first got married yrs ago which I liked, but I love the V50. I have the 2.4 naturally asperrated 5 cylinder. One thing I did notice though is once in awhile I get a burning rubber/tar like smell with the moon roof in the up postion. Also I'm having trouble finding an oil filter for the car and the location of it on the car along with the oil drain plug. Do I need to remove the splash gaurd from under the motor evey time I chg the oil? Is the filter a can filter or cartridge filter? Is there a site to look up engine schematics? Thx for any responces.

 

Sorry I can't help with the moon roof problem but this is how VADIS goes about the oil and filter change.

Thx Bill. I printed out the thumb nail and will compare it to my car. Is it something you scanned in, can I ask where you got the info from?

 

Yes, it was scanned in. Unfortunately the system for putting pictures in has a limit on size that is why the end productis so small. I usually increase the magnification of Internet Explorer to read it easily.

As stated in my post the info was from VADIS, Volvo Aftersales Diagnostic and Information System. I bought the DVDs on eBay UK, where else? They are not the current discs being used by the dealers, they are the 2006 version.

If you are considering buying I suggest you check out eBay UK as well as the US site. For some reason they have been cheaper there and most sellers will ship to the US. The discs cover all countries.
