Wet rear passenger floor and a bunch of other smaller, annoying things. Need advice!
Hey. New to the forums here. I have a 2007 Volvo V50 T5 w/sports package. It was running perfectly until recently when a bunch of issues creeped up all around the same time. It has 97,000 KM on it right now. The rear passenger floor is soaked at the moment, and I'm pretty sure its due to a disconnected AC drain hose. The dealer wants $600 to fix it and clean the carpets, but the car will be out of service for 2 days. I am really not mechanically inclined, so I do not feel comfortable DIY-ing this. Is that a fair price?
Also, the front passenger power window's auto up/down function is no longer working. The power window itself works, so I am confident that it is not the motor. I saw posts about how to reset it on the S60, but none for the S40/V50. I tried the S60 fix, but it didn't work. Anyone know how to fix this?
In the trunk area, a separate leak has developed. A small about of water drips from the roof onto the trunk cover. But the issue is that it is sporadic. It only happens sometimes when it is raining, so its hard to diagnose.
Additionally, the right side of the license plate light has stopped functioning. I purchased a new light bulb for the housing, but the light still does not work. I switched it with the left one, and it works there, so its not an issue with the light bulb. I'm thinking its a wiring issue. I'm worried it will be pricey to fix. Anyone have any experience with this issue?
I recently had the right front wheel bearing go out and I did the brakes all around. I fear that the car is slowly becoming a money pit and I'm wondering if I should fix all of this stuff and keep driving, or if I should ditch the car and trade it in. I went to look at a few cars, and have been offered $3000-$6500 on trade, which I feel is low. What should I do?

Hi,
Your first problem was with the disconnected AC drain hose. $600 sounds like a good price, if you can negotiate with them then I'd agree on $500-$550. Does the dealer offer a complimentary car hire? At my local Volvo dealer, when you get your car serviced you can hire one of the Volvo loan vehicles for $35/day while your car is being serviced.
I don't know how to fix your issue with the window I'm afraid, however you can try the link below:

You might want to try pressing and holding down the unlock button on your key fob until the windows (and sunroof) roll down. You can press and hold the lock button too (it'll close all the windows and the sunroof) too.
Never had a problem with the license plate wiring, however it could be linked to your leaky tailgate. Try running a hose on the tailgate and maybe have the camera filming it inside to see where the water leak is coming from. Maybe try replacing the fuse for the license plate lights?
What part of the world are you in? I sold my 2006 V50 2.4i in immaculate condition for $15,975 back in January, however I'm in Australia so it may be different. It had 88000km's on it, however before I sold it I had just completed a major service that cost me over $2k because I had to replace the front control arms. You should probably replace those too if you haven't already. Personally its up to you, I'd keep it, but if you want to trade it in, I'd upgrade to the new V60 (which is what I did).
I'm in Australia, and $3000-$6500 for a trade is definitely too low. Most 2006/2007 V50s sell for above $10k here, and yours has the T5 Sport Package too, so it should be going for higher. Let me know how everything goes.
