Default 120k service on V70xc

howdy,

I'm a new member here. I've had a 2000 V70xc for about a year now, just shy of 120k miles. I bought it used and new it would have a few issues but it's been an expensive year (needed a new radiator after 3 months, timing belt, all new tires because one got a flat that wasn't repairable, some coolant sensor went out and needed to be replaced; not to mention the really bad fuel economy). Since I actually financed this car I'm kind of thinking of selling it because it's turned out to be a money pit, except I really love how comfortable it is! I'm pretty torn.

It's due for a 120k service, what do those run? Isn't this basically a spark plug/coolant flush service? I have some credit at a mechanic's ($200), but I'm wondering if I should do this before I try to sell it.

thanks!

Default OK car wrong car

Hello, What did catching up on 9 years of Volvo maintenance cost? Since you've done the t-belt you are over the hump. Spark plugs are no big deal. It sounds like you don't turn a wrench. When you had the radiator replaced (what happened to it?), why didn't your mechanic suggest refreshing the fluid? You might be his Santa.
Regarding you bad mileage; ever measure it? The only accurate way is to total every week or month's miles driven and divide it by the volume (gallons) of gasoline purchased-starting and ending with a fillup. You've got a good car in all likelyhood. If your foot is made of lead AND the cost of gasoline, which ain't goin' down, is on your mind then this is not the car for you.
You've got more math to do. Kira
