I just bought my second t-5 v70. It's a 98 with 119,000 miles..

Just took it to get inspected by the state and it failed because the reverse lights wouldn't work. I checked the fuses and changed the bulbs and they still do not work..

could it be the reverse lamp/light switch..and how is that accessed? Any other thoughts? I don't have a good Volvo mechanic and my "american made" mechnics give me grief for owning one..but I thought I could show them advice from here/? Anyone?

There are a few post on it, you just have to search for it. Is it a standard or automatic?
Domestic mechanics are limited to just that. Owning a Volvo will require that you give it more attention, in the end it's worth it, if that's what you want.

 

It's a manual transmission..I only came up with replacing the reverse light switch on a v40 in a search here..how about a v70?
