Default 1999 v70 awd turbo 106K miles p0300 code

I was thinking about buying this car as it was only $2600. I hooked the computer to it and found 5 codes p01174 p01171 p0014 p0134 and p0300. After changing the coil packs it only threw one code, p0300. I decided that after reading a lot of posts I would go ahead and buy the car. I thought just some spark plugs and an oil change maybe it might come back to life. After changing the spark plugs it still had the one code and was idling rough. The steering wheel would shake and it would barely drive. I did a compression test and found #1 and #4 had 15 psi. Well that sucks as I now have to yank the head to fix a valve. Sure enough 6 hours later the head was off and the exhaust valves had a small piece missing. I will send it to the machine shop in a day and have it back on the car and driving in 2 weeks. Even doing the work myself it was still a $500 job. But at least now I will have a top end that is clean and gone through and a new timing belt.

I wanted to throw a thread in stating that if you get a p0300 code you should do a compression test and a leak down. It's not always the ignition system that is failing.
