2001 v70 ac question?
My wife's V70 was making noise and the mechanic told her it was the compressor clutch bearing. He said he could get the bearing and labor and everything would cost about $700.00. I haven't looked at the car yet because I work offshore and won't be home until the middle of March. It sounds like ya'll know these cars well so tell me.......Will I be able to drop the compressor and get the clutch off withhout completely disconnecting it? and I keep seeing Volvo forums about people replacing there compressors. Should I just go ahead and replace everything now? This car only has about 50,000 miles on it and an air compressor bearing has gone out ?
Any info would be great.
Thanks

You can loosen the compressor and turn it sideways from the top and get the clutch changed out.
I would take the cooling fan out as well which is very easy to do.
Also if it is a non-turbo it will be very easy. If it is turbo it will be a little harder.
