Default 2001 V70 Kickdown Issue

Hi, I have a 2001 V70 T5 with geartronic . The car seems to have a problem when it tries to kickdown. When the car is floored or if close to the starts to sputter and is unable to down shift below the normal 1 gear. It drives in all gears. Trans fluid is good and full (has a very small leak, but still full). I also got a check engine light due to my catalytic converter going (could be related, maybe the cause of the kick down problem, or a result of the kickdown problem from rich mixtures). The car had a transmission service at 93,000 miles according to CarFax, the car now has 117,000 miles on it. The car does not slip and shifts into every gear. There are no hesitations when the car shifts into gear and it shifts smoothly. The only problem with the trans seems to be the kickdown. It has been doing this since before I bought the a month ago.
