2008 V70 - is oil change requried EVERY 6 months?
I have a 2008 V70 with 10K miles. I did my first oil change when it reaches 7300 miles around 06/24/09.
The Volvo service centre where I did my 1st oil change called me last week and said that I need to schedule for the "15K maintenance" service. Since I only have 10K, I asked them why is that. They said because Volvo recommends "15K or 6 months, whichever comes first".
I look at my 2008 V70 manual and there is nothing that says "Every 6 months". Here's the link to Volvo V70 manual (Hint: press Ctrl-F or Command+F and search for word "month"):
- 2008 V70 Manual: http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/...0/08v70_00.htm
- 2008 Maintenance Chart: https://www.customers.volvocars.com/...intenance.html
So which one is right?
NOTE: I have Volvo Scheduled Maintenance coverage, so I pay nothing to do the scheduled maintenance up to 45K, but it still pain to bring my car and spend half a day for service especially if I don't need to.

Land Rover is the same way. We had our 45K mile service at 38k miles. We've been behind on the mileage per the schedule from the get-go, yet we still follow the time schedule versus the mileage. My maint. coverage ends at 50k miles however, and not during the prescribed timeframe. I have no clue why they do it that way.
