Our 2000 V70 has every option except heated seats and after having them in our truck and our Land Rover it totally sucks not having them in the Volvo. Walking around the junkyard today I noticed a ton of them with heated seats. It looks to me like the wires for the switches are already there in the console is this true? if so does the same apply to the seats? If they are in fact plug and play do I need to buy entire seats or can I just snag the heating elements and put them in my seats? So in short can I grab heating elements and a switches from a V70/S70 equipped with heated seats and just plug them into my car or is there some wiring involved? I really want heated seats but the aftermarket kits scare me, I know they work but I dont want to wire anything and the switches always look out of place on those kits.

 

I believe you will need the switches, relay, and seats. The car is pre-wired. It is a pain in the butt to install the heating elements only.

 

Is there a spot in the panel for the relay already? I dont mind tearing the seats apart to put in new elements, the leather on our seats is perfect and everything we find with heated seats has totally trashed interior.

 

The spot is there for the relay. The car is pre-wired for it.
