Bad Water pump symptoms??

what are some symptoms of a water pump going bad?

Never mind. I was able to get a better look and there's green-tinged fluid leaking down from behind the timing belt cover.

yep, leaking. It's squealing and squawking like a bird being beaten. (not sure what that would actually sound like...??), and on top of this my oil has a lot of air bubbles in it. Doesn't look good.

Don't make an assumption about the oil unless you are looking at it drained into a pan.

get that pump replaced ASAP, if it locks up it will through the timing belt and then you have major problems. change everything, pump, belt, idler and tensioner. peace of mind in this case is priceless.
