Car "hesitating" when I accelerate.
Hi all, I hope I can explain this problem accurately...what started out as a rare, intermittent quirk is now happening everytime and a few times the car actually stalls.
I have a 1998 V70 AWD.
When I start the car, it idles low for a for seconds and then the RPM's move up and level off between 800 & 1,000. Putting the car in D or R causes minor RPM change. However, when I step on the gas, the RPM's dip down to where the orange arrow shows up on the dash and I have to release the pedal and then step on it again to get the car moving or else it stalls.
For about 2 weeks now, on the highway at any speed, if I release the pedal for a moment and then step on it again, the same thing happens - the hesitation, the RPM's dipping down and I have to kinda pump the pedal to maintain or increase RPM's and speed.
Tho I wouldn't wish this on anyone, I hope someone has experienced this and can gimme some help...or maybe one of you Volvo geniuses might have the answer right off the top of your head..
BTW...I only use BP unleaded plus (mid grade) pretty much from the same station forever. I also started using Lucas Fuel/Injector additive when this started ( a few months now).
