Car stalled and I could not accelerate on the Highway
I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden my car started to stall (its automatic) and I could not accelerate. I saw on the message screen it said something along the lines of "Power Reduced" I luckly rolled into the breakdown lane, and shut off the car. I tried to start it a couple of times and it would not start. Then finally it started and seemed to be fine for the remainder of my drive.
Any suggestions on why this happened? I would appreciate any insight so I can find out how to get this problem fixed ASAP.
Thanks!

RE: Car stalled and I could not accelerate on the Highway
Liz,
We're considering the XC70 & trying to learn at abt what mileage these problems arrive.
Tech picked right up on it, Throttle body I assume.
In our searching on the Inet we're finding more 50- around 75k mi XC70's than anything else & wonder if this particular prob has todo with it? Value seems to fall for a bit during this mileage span according to the dozens we've averaged thus far.
Tech,
Can these vehicles be isolated either turbo or non turbo with this problem?
Type of fuel being used?
Thanx, Gben

RE: Car stalled and I could not accelerate on the Highway
Hi LIz,
See my new item on Volvo XC70 woes! Apparently related to an ETM filter that needs to be cleaned! Volvo is aware of this problem, it is the subject of a class action suit in the US but Volvo will not iniate the remedy! They have however issued instructions to their dealers to effect repair for free as long as you are still within the warranty and insist upon this yourself.
The lawfirm dealing with this can be reached at complaints@fazmiclaw.com and they may know more!
Good luck,
Marc
