I had to change a lamp in the CCM of my 2001 V70 and decided to go with LED lights this time. I originally used white lights and new green silicone caps to try and duplicate the original color but the tinting wasn't right. The original silicone caps were faded and torn so I threw them away but should have saved them for better tint matching. Since I couldn't match the original tinting I decided to go a multi-color route. Red for the higher temperature portion of the dial, blue for lower temp section and white lights in the remainder top button areas. Of the 6 bulbs used in the CCM I used 2 reds, 2 blues and 2 white LEDs. For the white LEDs I used lower output (non superstar) T4 neo wedge LEDs since these top area bulbs don't need to be as bright. The LED lights do have a polarity so they only work in the correct orientation. I used some test leads connected to a 12V battery to test and marked the negative lead when the LEDs lighted. When looking at the back of the CCM the negative mark is oriented to the lower right for all bulbs.
