central locking

Most likely the door lock mechanism. Couple of questions, when you lock the doors does the driver door look attempt to lock, can you hear it trying to lock, does the door lock **** move at all? Just trying to determine if the driver's door lock is getting the signal to lock, if so then it's most likely the door lock mechanics screwing up. Any difference when using the key in the door lock vs. the fob?
I've taken the door lock assembly apart and there's a worm drive gear and a small plastic piece that changes the position of the locking action by sliding against ramps. If any of this worn it could cause problems. There's also a couple of switches, one switch to tell if the door is open or closed and the other to tell if the door is locked or not. The lock switch could also be the problem. The lock assembly is not made to be taken apart so you'll need to replace the assembly.
