I just got a 98 v70xc the check engine light is on and so was the traction control light. I cleared the ecu and my trac light went away but whenever I press the switch it doesnt do anything shouldnt it light up or something if its turned off? I just got the car and this is my first volvo so IDK what to be looking for. My check engine light is on also but the car runs great so if you have any ideas on that please let me know

 

I was thinking it could be the trac module or abs module I was reading about since it seems thats a common problem. But if thats malfunctioning would that cause the check engine light to go on as well? any advice someone can give?
