What is the black box between the coolant resevoir and the windshield washer tank? All of the pictures I see of the engine bay show a hose coming out of the front of the box. Mine does not have the hose. Is that a problem? I took the cover off the box and found two metal units inside. Are these computer modules? I can't find any reference to this box in my manual.

 

ECU housing and TCU housing.

The hose is to cool the ECU and TCU.

It isn't a problem, you should have the hose though.
