Cruise Control - Intermittent - Need Help
I have a 1997 v70. I purchased it used with 140K on it. It now has 170K. The cruise control has never worked properly. I'm now driving the car 120 miles per day and it would be nice if the cruise worked.
It works when I first start off in the morning. Switch is moved to the on position. Note, it takes much longer to engage that a normal cruise control. After the car is warmed up or if I get into a hilly situation, it stops working. Is this someway related to a vacuum leak.
Any help is appreciated.

RE: Cruise Control - Intermittent - Need Help
Question - Comments
If it was something to do with a switch and the brake pedal, I would think that the problem would be constant instead of intermittent - any comment on that.
Also - when the cruise control works, I'm not seeing any sort of light on the dash that the system is engaged.
A pin hole in a hose makes sense. The system works when the car is cold. As it warms up, it stops working. I'm thinking that a leak is more prevelant in the hose as the engine compartment gets warmer because of expansion.
Any suggestions on how to diagnose which hose and in what area?
Thanks

RE: Cruise Control - Intermittent - Need Help
The brake switches are really touchy one time when the brake pedal releases it will put enough pressure on the sensor. The next time it will not.
Try pulling the brake pedal towards you with your foot then try turning the cruise on and see if it comes on.
The cruise motor attaches to the battery try. Then the hose runs under the tray back to the cabin.
To inspect it good you will need to remove the battery and tray to inspect the hose good.
If you do remove the battery make sure you have your radio code.
