Default Deciphering Codes OBD2

Having some problems. This is the beginning of the saga. First the car began to sputter and RPM’s fluctuating rhythmically turned off car, as it never shut down on it own. Pulled codes before turning car on again at same location with OBD II actron scanner. Codes read P0172 system to rich bank 1, & P1017 manufacturer specific DTC. Erased codes opened hood noticed with engine and key off the secondary air injection pump was humming/vibrating a very small amount when the power was disconnected from unit it stopped. Removed the air box, MAF, and secondary air injection pump. Cleaned and lubricated all applicable parts i.e. MAF with contact cleaner, and the air pump with contact cleaner and lubricant. Also checked all Vacuum lines out of air box and zipped tied them so as to not have leakage. Reassembled and started vehicle no problems although the secondary air injection pump still vibrated a small amount with engine off. Drove vehicle for a few days then got a P0171 to lean bank 1. Also have noticed the engine starts hard now and it shuts down hard not like it used to and the RPM’s fluctuate from 1100-1200 at first startup then drop to about 900. Anybody have similar experience?

It could very well be a bad throttle body. The Manf. code you had most of the time is a throttle body code.
Try to drive it a little more and get that code back in there. Then take it to the dealer. If it is the throttle body they will replace it for free under the new warranty 10 years 200,000 miles.

The code being what? p1017 if I cant get the code to reproduce what then? think it could be the Mass airflow sensor, or something else or are most other parts bulletproof.

OK here are the codes I came up with.
P1008/1009 = ETS light
P1019/1020 = Throttle body communication
P1021/1022 = Throttle unit
P1026/1027/1028/1031/1032/1033/1053 = throttle body internal fault
P1029/1030/1042/1043/1044/1052/1055 = accelerator pedal sensor fault

I forgot to write down your code and look that one itself up I will try to remember to do it Tomorrow.

Can I ask if anyone has access to or can point to a listing of the OBD II codes for the V70?

Tech..

Looking for P codes as I'm using an after-market scanner and software.

Do the OEM codes apply only to Volvo's own FCR software?

http://www.2carpros.com/kpages/diagn...uble_codes.htm
This is the best I can do for the P codes.

The OEM codes are according to Volvo's software.

Tech..

Thanks for the info.

By the way, do you recommend the ScanTool software that came with my ELM327 or is there better software out there for OBDII?

Also, is the OEM Volvo FCR software worth the high price they want for it.. and will it work with my ELM327?

I am really not sure.
I haven't used many of the aftermarket softwares The setup we have at work is the Vadis just like the Dealer used years ago.
Volvo has since gone to a web based setup called VIDA.
