RE: Dipped Beam
I have discussed this before. You need to get under the dash on the drivers side, Remove the lower panel and look for a Black Box looking thing with a bunch of relays. There are also funny looking long strips. Check around all of them good for burn marks.
You can also with the key off remove the relays one at a time and check them. The connections at the Cem burn some at times causing a bad connection. If you find it clean both really good and try again.
You might have to buy a new relay.

Tech,
Thanks for going over this topic again. This is a new car to me (I've come back over from the german side). Followed your lead and the relays looked good. After sterilizing everything, lights are working again. Time to buy a new relay just in case.
Thanks again,
Snowman

No luck on a Haynes book yet. Relay's are free of burn marks and "click" when the switch is turned. Further reaserch points to the steering wheel modul and the codes must be pulled to verify this. I'm off to the dealer Monday morning to put this issue to bed.
At least I'll be able to drive away with the day time running lights shut off.
Thanks again,

RE: Dipped Beam
Here's what the dealer found. Wires were arcing at the back of the Cental Electonics Module (the relay panel under front drivers side dash). Relays and fuses were all fine and there was no evidence of heat on the front of the relay panel. The lesson is to remove the panel and examine both sides. The dealer replaced all of the wire ends to the tune of $300+
The good news is that the car didn't go up in smoke, and they disconected the day time running lights.
Thanks again for your help,
Snowman
