Default Help with belt tensioner.....

I just installed a new alternator for a 2001 Volvo V70 T5....

i thought since im at it let me put in a new belt as well. Car turned on and all seemed fine but the belt tensioner pulley seemed like it was breakdancing.

i checked all the bolts and tightened everything up but to no avail, everytime i turn the car on the belt tensioner is shaking and it looks like its vibrating the engine.

did i go wrong anywhere or is the tensioner shot?

how often do these things go bad, is it common?

i dont even have any idea how to replace it and if thats the problem....

anybody done something like this?

Some movement is normal. If you feel uneasy then you can change it. There is 2 bolts that hold the assembly in there. They are a little hidden but they are there.
