Hi,

So my car is leaking power steering fluid like a sieve out the rack. I have an issue identifying which replacement part I need, though. The 11th digit on my VIN is a 2, however when I check for parts that go along with this VIN# it's only showing that it fits models w/ turbo or AWD. My car is FWD non-turbo yet my 11th VIN digit is 2? P.S. my car is fully-loaded except for the turbo/awd I'm not sure if that means anything, I am not sure if it's an SE model or base, never been able to get a straight answer on that. So I am confused on which part to buy. Anyone who has run across this problem please advise?

***edit: I also just found out that there are different racks for cars with the 11th digit VIN# as "1" determined by 2 other digits in the VIN, being 53, 56, or 61. Well, mine is 61 and again that coincides with the 11th digit being a "1" but my 11th is a "2". Makes no sense!

 

On the plate under the hood should be a suspension number that you can use.

 

There's an ID plate on the D/S engine bay on the fender that says which is which. If you look at the FCP Groton for the parts they'll direct you on which numbers to pay attention to.
