Key will not come out of ignition and steering wheel will not lock

tried to turn of car and remove key from ignition. Steering wheel will not lock as it normally does.

Make sure the shifter **** button is all the way out. If it is not out all the way then the key will not turn back all the way. Then you won't be able to get the key out either.

I'm not sure if you still have this problem, but make sure the SHIFT Override button is all the way out. An 1/8 of an inch will cause this problem.
