Default Low beams Keep Going Out 2004 V70

Hello everyone, new to the forum. I have a plain 2004 V70 wagon and the low beam lamps keep going out. I had the mechanic replace about two or three this year and I replaced the last ones with the best bulbs I could find(said HI & LOW beam bulb on package) and one only lasted about two months. I made sure not to touch the glass and put it in correctly. Any suggestions?

Ck the voltage at the light and report back. Vary the RPMs (trans in Park/Neutral of course) while measuring and record the highest voltage.

If highest reading is above about 14.5 - 15.5 volts then ck out the voltage regulator on the alternator.

Make sure you're buying the right bulb! This happened to me a couple of times until I realized that there are two "recommended" bulbs with different amperages!

Default Check the connectors inside the socket

The wifes XC70 was going through low-beam bulbs (H11's) like mad (1 a month), but the funny thing is that the bulbs would work in another car just fine. Replaced the passenger bulb 4 times before I figured out the issue: one of the connectors within the socket was pushed down (probably during a bulb change) and was intermittently losing contact (usually when heated up). Took a small jewelers flat bladed screwdriver and pushed all the connectors within the socket towards the top of the socket and held them in place when I replaced the bulb and haven't had another issue in the 6 months since. Next up: converting the XC to HID as I've done on the '04, just testing the longevity of the HID kit for a few more months...

check the terminals and see if they are burnt, and if the plastic around them is gone.
