Default OBD2 Codes - P0301 & P1119

What do they mean? Do I have to send it to the shop or can I fix it myself?

Default Your Codes

Hello, 1) P0301: cyl. #1 misfire detected. Remove the plastic cover atop your engine-Torx 25 as I recall. Remove the hold down bolt and unplug the left most (as you face the engine) coil-which is #1 and ,say, the middle coil-which is #3, and swap the coils. If the code changes to P0303 you know you have isolated the bad coil. Just replace the bad coil. Only if another one goes bad soon do you entertain the idea of replacing them all.
2) P1119: Manifold Absolute Temperature circuit High Input. I'm guessing this is merely a temperature probe problem. I'd locate said probe and try cleaning it. If the piece is easily accessable and the other economies work out, you could try a little trial and error with a junkyard part. Search this code # on this and other Volvo boards. Don't limit yourself to V70 boards-this is a generic code. Kira

1) Any idea how much is it to replace coils?

2) How do you locate "said probe"?

2a) Any suggestions for other resources?

Hello, 1)The coils are bet. $40 and $50 from site sponsors. FCPGroton is having a big promotion on in-stock items now. 2)If your car is a non-turbo the temp. probe is part of the MAF sensor. You can try cleaning the thing with MAF cleaner. Don't touch it while it dries. Worth a try. 2a)Get a Haynes manual or a VADIS disc which covers your year. There's another name for the later disc. I can't think of it. Kira
