Default Power Steering Pulley - How to replace it?

I took a chunk out of the power steering pulley when I did the timing belt service (it's made of some special light plastic). I think I need to consider replacing it. The VADIS program talks about special tools. Has anyone done this? Can it be done with a simple puller and then press fit with a bench vise?

Sorry to say but you need the special tool to do it. It will also still be a major PITA to get it off.

Sounds like I might be better off just getting a used steering pump from salvage....or do you thing if I pulled the pump a machine shop might be able to pull the pulley and mount the new one?

They might be able to. With the special tool I have had a few break trying to remove it with the tool.
