I have a V70 first registered in the UK at the end of 1998 so it's an S reg for all you UK members. I followed the service light resetting procedure with holding the odometer reset button in, turning the ignition to position III and waiting for the service light to flash three times, then releasing it. Turning off the ignition and then it is reset! If you miss the three flash or hold the button in to long i.e. until it stops flashing, it will NOT work.
