Default Say NO to 'stealer$$' ETM.

For those who need new ETM:

My vehicle Info:
- 2000, V70 GLT (T4 Turbo).
- Around 235,000 Km.
- Previous ETM (yellow sticker) which mean already replaced by dealer.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Have to replace the ETM this summer and the 'stealer' quote over $1200 Can (new ETM, labour + reprogram the new ETM).

I found this company in Mississauga (Toronto), Canada that sell remake Volvo ETM using using touchless sensor. Here is the site Xemodex Inc. Technology Improved

- Contactless Digital Sensor.
- Lifetime warrantee (Canada / US).
- New ETM preprogrammed to your car VIN. No need to program it at the dealer.
- "Install and Go" :-)

Any way, I order one (around $500 + tax) - the new ETM came 3 days later via UPS completed with new gagets and installation instruction. I am no mechanic but be able to install the new ETM in around 1.5 hour (a little bit long due to I did not to jack up the car and taking much extra care) but any auto shop probably install it in less than 1 hr.

The car ran so much better and much smoother with the new ETM. All I can say is it works and much, much cheaper (save your $$$ for beer).
If you are in a market for a new ETM, check this place out.

FYI - here is the thread of those already installed Xemodex's ETM:
