Hi ,have a 2000 v70 t hy at i parked for the winter for maintenance issues. Statted car today snd noticed a strong animal odor inside cabin. Didnt see any evidence of animals in cabin. How can i remove smell from car. Thanks.

 

first step is find the nest. most likely its in the air vents (I found a mouse house in my wife's Highlander where they used the cabin air filter for bedding :-)

Once you find it, use a shop vac to remove all the debris. If its in the air vents, you can try some cleaners like Fridgi-Fresh or even a Lysol solution to get rid of any mold and odd smells in the air vents.

 

Thank you for the reply. Wasnt really sure where it was coming from. Didn't see evidence in cabin of unvited guests . i will check vents in a day when it warms up.
