Default Sparked starter solenoid with ratchet handle during oil sensor replace now no start

2002 v70 non turbo. replaced relay checked fuses and battery all good. systems light up so i assume computer is ok. start attempt produces nothing. did i blow the solenoid? dmm goes to zero when key turned to start

yep fried the solenoid. too bad the protective boot was missing..i refuse to be mad at myself

Are you sure its fried and you didn't accidentally unplug/knock a terminal from the starter during your shocking experience? There is a spade terminal that can be temper-mental and if that is loose you will get absolutely nothing when trying to start the car. Ive done something similar with a flathead (insulated handle thankfully) and I am surprised the solenoid would be fried.

wiggled the wire,,,fixed! thank you! i'll try to get it off and clean it up later
