On the 98 v70xc wagon the steering wheel is very hard to turn at any speed. After an hour driving you start to get tired. Any way to loosing up the steering wheel to make it easier to turn?

I'm new to the 98 v70awd, (but not volvo). I've only had it a short time but haven't noticed 'steering effort'. Did you just get the car or is it a new development? I ask because effort to steer is a little bit subjective.

it has been since we bought it. It is very hard to steer. I does get better in the summer with warmer weather. But then again I am compairing it to an audi which I can drive with a finger. Mom can have the volvo I will stick to my 92 audi v8

okthink I understand. Here's my experience: does drive like a 'heavy' car, but will change lanes easily and quickly. I'm a two finger driver, in the 7 oclock position. Below 5mph, little more effort. Short of driving a different same model vehicle, may be hard to gauge in words.
