I'm not sure why this is happening or even if something is wrong, but it's kind of annoying.

when I shift from 2nd into 3rd the RPM's spike and then drop about 1000 as the car settles into gear. so for example I'll be at 3500 in 2nd shift to 3rd and it goes to something like 3000 for a split second and then drops down to about 2000 RPM.

If I shift from anything under 4000 in 2nd, when it shifts into 3rd it drops lower than the turbo and there is a bunch of lag until the RPM's climb back up again.

everything in every other gear seems fine. What could be causing this?

Any ideas?

 

Manual transmission?
If so some of that is normal.

 

Automatic, but happens when I have it in the Geartronic manual mode.

I hope it's normal (don't really want to deal with a transmission issue right now.)

 

I have not shifted the Auto's in manual mode much. That might be normal.

 

it feels programmed and everything else feels fine, i think it maybe just an added "step up" because it only really does it when shifting early out of 2nd. maybe b/c 3rd is a much longer gear than 2nd.
