Tailgate lit on console stays on

My tail gate lite on my console stays on even when my tailgate is locked. I have made sure tyhat the tail gate is closed and latched and it still stays on

Check the wiring bundle back at the tailgate as there have been issues with failure in this area due to flex of the bundle and then the harness breaking and getting cross circuits.
