Hi Smoke drifting from (top of engine) oil fill opening. I tested with placing a thin rubber glove over the opening and it "balloons" rather than suck in air.
I'm planning to replace the PCV Breather System parts.2006 Volvo V70, 2.5T turbo. wagon. 114k miles. The Kit seems to have all I should need and the Youtube videos to help. What other parts/components should be considered fopr replacement while I've got the relevant sections dismantled for this PCV job ? thx
I've read the original style hose clamps (Oetiker?) can be replaced with worm drive. If you go that route use the "better" clamps with a curved body.
Don't forget to clean out the oil return passage to the pan. Part of it is cast into the pan. If you can't snake a cleaning string down through it you might just remove the pan and do the oil pick-up tubes while you're there.
At 114K you should do the timing belt as you'll have better access.
My '07 has 112K and I'm looking at the same jobs.
Cheers and Happy New Year
THANK YOU ! Your post helps.
I'll try to take off the oil pan to clean that return pipe and any sludge that may be in the pan. Mind you, may have to replace the oil-pan gasket.

Hello,
Just replaced PCV breather box today on my 2002, everything they included in the kit was used for the job. I recommend replacing any hose they give you. I used worm drive clamps as the previous reply also recommended, When I purchased the kit from volvo i made sure to ask that they don't include their clamps, and it saved me $45. Hope this helps
Thanks for responding to my post. How long did it take to complete task ? Other than PCV system, the Timing Belt job is also on my To Do list. Best.
I as well did my timing belt, between the PCV and the timing belt i think it took about 6-8 hours. taking apart and putting all of the hoses back onto the intake is what took the most time. PCV box itself is a piece of cake. Timing belt only took an hour or so, so depending on how organized and diligent you work it should only take a few hours to do the PCV
I don't know what comes in the kit you picked but make sure to replace the banjo bolt that goes underneath the intake and the 2 washers that go with it.
I know this part will say it doesn't fit your car, the black piece is just a tad longer, they don't sell just this part for the other models. The black hose gets clogged and the only other choice than this piece, is the whole coolant pipe for like $200.
Due to the part ordering, weather and holidays did not start work yet. I've the parts, PCV Breather system kit, as displayed in the attached photo.
The part you mention not seen in my photo so is it an additional item to replace ? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vol...volvo-30731007
Hopefully I'll find some detailed videos to help carry out this repair task If I do, I'll post them here.
Thanks pcv breather system kit
