Default V70 Brake Question

Hello all,

I've been a member for a while but this is my first post. I have a 1999 V70 turbo wagon. I purchased it back in December of 08 and it has never had really good stopping power. I have to press pretty hard on the brakes to get them to stop. It also seems as if I am pressing the pedal about half to 3/4 of the way down before it gets solid. Within the last 2 weeks I have replaced the rotors and pads and checked the fluid level and all are good. I have no hissing sounds or any other noises it just seems sluggish on braking. Any ideas. My car has about 92,000 orig miles.

Bleed the brakes, traditional method is to crack the bleed tap on the caliper whilst someone pushes the pedal, close the tap, then release the pedal, apply pressure and repeat, for all wheels, top up reservoir as you go.

Power booster could also be stuffed, then you'd be pushing as hard as if the engine was turned off, which would be really hard.

If you have to bleed the brakes, buy a vacuum bleeder and follow the simple directions. Easy, fast, one-man bleed.

Thanks to all! I guess I ruled this out prematurely. I have never had the system open so I thought "I certainly don't need to bleed them" Duh. Again many thanks to you all!
