Guys,

I have a problem with the dash on my V70. It started as an intermitten fault. Every now and again it would simply die completely - nothing on the DIM operates other than the engine management light when ignition is in position 1. It is now completely dead.

I've had the dash tested and it works fine on a Volvo test bed. Its been suggested that the CEM might have failed. Can I ask - what is this, what does it do and is it likely to be the answer to my problems? If anyone knows where it is that would also be very useful as I'd like to have a look at it before shelling out the £1000!
